See You Next Year

This post concludes the tenure of this blog/website; there will be no further posts here, and comments will be disabled. There will be no more posting on the Festival Facebook page or Twitter, either.

Thank you for your visits here, and participation in the Festival proper.

The 2013 Creative Fibre Festival will be hosted by the Wellington Team. This is their blog/website, and here is their Facebook Page. Good luck, Wellington!

And see you again in a year's time.

With warmest regards,
Joan and The Team

Wrapping Up Time

Fibre Festival 2012 was brought to you by the Marlborough Creative Fibre Guild, with help from other groups in the Nelson/Marlborough/Buller Area and many many other friends and colleagues. Now it is over and time to turn our attention to 2013, so see you over at their blog.

In the meantime here are behind-the-scenes pictures of the Marlborough Guild. In these photos the members are filling the registration packs, and you can see that it was real team work.  We enjoyed the Festival immensely and hope you did too.

Now there is one last "Thank You" and it is a big one.  We owe a huge vote of thanks to Meg Nakagawa who started us on this blogging journey and has been a dedicated and delightful 'Blog Mum' during the long build-up to Festival and during the Festival itself. This Festival Blog is a first, and has been a most successful one. Thank you so much Meg.

We end with the smiling faces of Meg and her husband Ben, taken when they came to Festival, wearing their hats in keeping with the theme.

High 5 - Hi Fibre Part 4

No prizes for guessing the owner of this shapely leg.

A good time was had by all.

High 5 - Hi Fibre Part 3

High 5 - Hi Fibre Part 2

In case you are wondering, the 'fashion models' you see here were dressed for a tropical wedding holiday by their table mates from a provided stash. Creative was the watchword.
More to come . . .

High 5 - Hi Fibre Part 1

Our aims were to 'interest, educate and inspire' and we believe we have done that and shown you the results on this blog. But wait . . . there's more . . . 'entertain' was also included in the mix and as we near the end of this blog we will show you some of the fun photos from 'High 5 - Hi Fibre, the Saturday night festival entertainment .  Maybe 'You are the Fashion' came into it - or perhaps not!

The merriment and mayhem was brought to us by Alison Graham (front) and Christine Holdaway. Just look at their wicked grins! From here on we won't be naming names, but will just say you may get a different view of some CF members and officials.
Keep watching!

Some of the People who helped Festival to happen

Marlborough Guild members/supporters - Tricia, Jen, June and Rosemary.
Paddy and Pat with Esther Nitschke who officially opened the Festival - the 40th one she has attended!
Displaying 200 of the hats was one of the tasks Katie helped with.
Birgite had the difficult task of judging the exhibition awards. Look back at previous posts if you missed seeing the winners.
Caroline photographed every exhibition item for the official records and our exhibition catalogue.
Sarah Hornibrook and Friend. Sarah was one of our presenters, and only those who attended her talk will know the full story behind this picture.

There were many many other 'behind the scenes' people and we can't show them all, but we are grateful for willing helpers and great team work. And we had such fun! (More about that in a day or two.)
